I'll tell you the first step some other time. Focus people. Yes, it is also true that our bathroom set-up is funk-eh! Blame it on the good ole' 70's. I do!
As we brush our teeth, we wash our feet. As Allison Weenig says, it is indeed gross to go to bed with dirty feet. This actually happened by accident. Originally I would put Sienna with her booty on the counter facing me, legs hanging off the counter in front of me. Chloe's legs, for some odd reason, always went straight to the sink. Probably because she's much more wiggly and whiny, and hates to be accomodating in any way. Love that bug!
Anyway, once they started brushing their teeth together, it just worked out so perfectly. Now their favorite part is when they get to rinse off their toothbrushes (which I must inform you, happens after about 15 seconds of sucking on the toothbrush, with an occasional swish across the teeth). We turn the water on, and- OILLA.....feet start the cleaning process. They mainly play footsie in the water with eachother and giggle as I tell them to "keep brushing your teeth!" (smiling, of course!).
I just love this part of the night, can you blame me? They're SO cute "brushing" their teeth!!
a family that washes their feet together, stays together.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute little ritual! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful little girls! Polishing those pearly whites and playing footsie at the same time, can't beat that for a plan...what smart parents!
ReplyDeleteah, how sweet! at my house, it is not so sweet. I sit on top of the little punk (that would be Owen) - yes, I pin him down b/c he doesn't cooperate - letting nothing show but his head... with one hand holding his head still and the other hand brushing his teeth - while he cries. Then, when my duty is done I let him "brush his teeth" - which is really only playing. If Jackson acts up during brushing all I have to say is "want me to pin you?" and he behaves. Ha ha ha haha...I'm so mean! Not really, just avoiding cavities =)
ReplyDeleteI do love the footsy story...now if they were boys the jammies would get soaked and you'd have to start all over again. Count your blessings for those mellow little darlings =)
You are a smart mommy. The girls look like they are having so much fun. Adorable P.J.s
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I'm with Robin, we have to pin our boys down to get their teeth brushed. Chloe and Sienna are adorable:)
