Beachy Day!

My lovely friend, Christy Reid, is a sweetheart and came over to make my locks pretty on Monday. She was planning on going to the beach, and invited us. So, after convincing myself that it was worth taking the girls to the beach without Stephen's help, off we went! (Turns out Christy was even more help than Stephen!)

Sienna didn't leave Christy's side. It was so cute. They ran around in the water together screaming gleefully. (Meanwhile, Chloe kept me busy with her extreme grumpiness. Apparently I'm mean to Chloe if I don't let her crawl straight into the depths of the ocean....did I mention the water was FREEZING? I didn't want a hypothermic baby!) So, I did what I must and BARELY got her interested in the wagon (which I used to lug children and gear to the beach with) in time for me to retrieve my sanity.

Above you'll see my lovely attempt at a mini-pool for the girls to hang out in. Turns out they like it afterall!
Which we later used as a burial ground for Chloe. The kid would NOT stay with us, so we buried her lower extremeties (a very beloved idea from a friend) til she was stuck. I LOVE that idea! Gave her some toys and she played in the sand for a good 5 minutes (yah...that's it). Then she was back to squirming trying to get back to her treasured water.Sienna likes rocks.
As a peace treaty and to offer comfort, Christy offers her finger...and Chloe accepts. It was a really fun day and I'm so glad we went!

Brooke! What a brave and fun mom you are. I LOVE the idea about burying the little one! It just may get me back to the beach with my three. Your girls are GORGEOUS. Good work! And I'm loving your bloggie....it's been fun to get to know you better.

I can see just see it now....my 3 little girls all in a row dug into the sand so all you can see is their chest & heads! I'm so doing that next time I go! Well...at least to Vivs. How much sand did Chloe consume? That is so funny---you cute mom.

Those are great pictures, and it looks like it was such a beautiful day. Makes me wish I was back there, it's cold here! That's awesome that they both had so much fun.

It was gorgeous at the beach! Why was it so yucky here? Sammy used to crawl to the sand EVERY time we put her down when she was that age. At lease Chloe isn't scared of the water! I wish I would have known that "trick". I'll have to use it on nieces and nephews. My "trick" was to lug down one of those big red plastic buckets and fill it w/water so they had their own little "pool". Also perfect for washing off hands before eating!

I'm so jealous! We're in 90 degrees over here and I would love it if we had a beach...just a couple of water splash areas. Jace asked me the other day if we could go to the beach....too bad just a little far. looks like you had fun!
