Boy do I have a story! And yes it's true, I'm a big goober anytime I meet someone famous (as long as I like them at all, that is!)(Even when I met Mayor Jerry Sanders a month ago I was in awe) !! So, here's how it went down....me and my two neighbors, Nina & Mariah, and my sis-in-law, Christy, went up to Burbank, CA for a taping of the Ellen show on Tuesday! I signed up for them on her website about 2 months ago. About a week ago they called my place asking if I was still interested in going to the show...and with a very enthusiastic "YES!!!" I said I would be there! So off we went! We only had standby tickets, and since we got there around 11:30am-ish we didn't get there early enough to get into the studio audience. So we got to be in the "riff-raff room", which was pretty fun in itself. We danced our booties off in there anyway and had a blast together.
The taping included DAVID BECKHAM (that's right ladies!)!!! What a hottie (yes I know I'm married! And he's a hottie too)!!! We also saw Jaime Pressley (My Name is Earl), the Pauls (American Choppers), Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine).....saw them on a tv though. The nice thing about the whole experience is that we for sure get to go back to see another show, and we have guaranteed audience seats next time (April 30th). Hooray!!
So, we were just starting to drive out of the NBC studio area, we were waiting at a light...and I heard some girls screaming and freaking out in their car pulled off to the side of the road behind us. So I realize that they're talking to Ellen DeGeneres! Once the light turns green I turn left (cause you have to) and get in the slow lane and I went Slllllooooowwwww. The guy behind me hated me, I'm sure of it! Sure enough Ellen pulled up next to us in her Porsche at the next light (did I mention that there was 5 car lengths of NO cars in front of me?? =) ). We rolled down on our windows and started getting her attention. And how nice is she? She was on her phone, but she hung up eventually, rolled her window down and totally had a conversation with her! She was so nice. We told her we had been in the show that day but in the riff raff room, she said "aww..that's too bad" (or something) and we then told her we would be back on the 30th, to which she said, "I'll be there!". We conversed about soccer, the traffic, etc. Seemed like forever. What a FUN experience...and we get to do most of it all over again!!
