this, ladies and gentle-readers, is what i bought myself last night. yes, a 700 fill power down pillow. i had to, you see. and here's why:
sleeeeeeeep.........
what's so wrong with wanting to get a good night's rest? i mean, really? i buy these $10 pillows from target or walmart (or wherever!) and less than a few months later, i find myself in the same predicament- uncomfortable. it's a constant battle. i decided that it must be the price that i'm paying for. after an extremely dreamy stay at the hampton inn in las vegas a few weeks back, i was completely convinced that i needed the pillow that caressed my sleepy head to sleep that night. there was nothing. else. to it! i slept so wonderfully that night. yes, maybe a small portion may be attributed to the fact that i had no kids coughing in the backround, no person i had to share a bed with (i still love him, yes....but sometimes i want my own bed!) or the fact that i was dead tired. perhaps! but, i will say, that i found myself repeating over the following weeks, "i wish i had taken that pillow home with me!"
so as i'm putting clean sheets on our bed and pillows tonight, i'm staring at these sorry-looking, flat-ish and starting-to-yellow, pillows. ick....i know. stephen and i are wondering what happened to our pillows. didn't we just buy them a few months ago? sure felt like it! so i'm reminiscing to him about my amazing pillow experience in vegas....again. he's already heard it a few, and he was already zoning out while i droned on. when suddenly!!! POOF! so off i ran to the computer. tried to find out exactly what kind of pillows the hampton inn uses. i found it. i drooled. i begged. i bought.
end of story. happy me. shipping this week!

haha, you're too funny! But I bet that pillow will make worlds of difference, and a good night's sleep is the best start to a good day!
Funny indeed, but I'm totally looking forward to hearing how you sleep with it!
Gotta have a good pillow!!! The pictures of your girls below are so cute!!
good for you. nothing like a wonderful pillow. about 2 years ago kenton won a giftcard to potterybarn, and i figured well why not spend it on something we would never spend that much money for...so we bought each of us a $50 pillow. it was the best purchase ever and has actually lasted (which doesn't seem to happen with pillows in this house)!!!! i am happy to say i am still in love with my pillow, and i hope yours brings many wonderful nights of sleep.
so happy. why shouldn't we be allowed to have a good nights sleep? good for you Brooke. And I'm so with you on my best nights sleep being in a bed by MYSELF... that doesn't make us bad wives does it?
