motivation

what motivates you?

usually i am motivated by many things, but none of those normal things are doing it for me anymore.  trying to figure out what it is that i should be working towards these days is a lot harder than it should be.  i speak in terms of temporal things, not spiritual things.

here are some things that currently do motivate:

my children
my husband
the possibility of graduation
food (yes, i'm being honest)
having fun

i hope that small list doesn't seem too shallow, mostly towards the end there.  honestly though...food is a big motivating factor for me.  you want my love?  give me something good to eat.  now you know.  especially if it has butter, garlic and onions in it....mmmm.....stop me now!

anyway...today has been a vent, by yours truly....b.

I turned 69 this year. Nothing much motivates me. I have a broken ankle now for 2.5 years. It will not heal because I am diabetic. I had a heart failure around the same time I broke my ankle. I would love to go to Europe again, but I can not.

Hmmm, motivation to do what, exactly? Are you talking about ways you bribe yourself to do the boring/unpleasant/nasty chores of life? Or reasons for getting out of bed? Or just things you look forward to?

I still have some motivators that work for getting me out of bed. Some things that motivate me to do things I don't enjoy (for example, the endorphin high and the weight I've lost motivate me to run even though I loathe it). But as far as things to look forward to ... not much on that list.

sounds like you need a quiche! I'd bring one over if I had time...
