Eugene & Eva

This is my late grandfather, Eugene Woodruff Whitaker, and my grandma, Eva Coombs Whitaker. I love this picture of them together. I'm pretty sure this picture was taken at Bryce Canyon. After my grandpa passed away last year, my mom, her sisters and my grandma started cleaning things out a bit. They found boxes and boxes of old slides. My grandfather was an excellent organizer and documenter. He has audio of my mother singing songs at age 2! I'm so grateful that he was so good about that.
My grandmother is also amazing, for she has written in her journal every single day (no joke) for over 40 or 50 years. I'm not exactly sure how long, but I know it's been a long time. I can even look back to the day I was born in her journals and see that she wrote about me being born. So cool! I am forever grateful for amazing grandparents and their examples.

That is such a cool picture. Makes me think that I need to be WAY better about documenting my life for my kids and grandkids. Thanks for the motivation!

I love it! I'm so grateful for all of those strange quirks Grandpa had. That's why we have all of this! And, of course, Grandma's journals.

Grandparents were so much better than us at documenting our personal history. I guess blogging fits into that category.

How romantic they look! I need to be better about writing in my journal like your grandma! She seems like quite the woman!
