a pony ride, part deux

chloe was definitely more comfortable hopping on the pony after seeing how much fun sienna had on it.  that helped a lot.  she got right on and looked so natural on pingoleta.  she even agreed to trot!  go, chloe!

the onlookers.

pony ride...check!  that item on the girls' bucket lists is complete, though i suppose it might transition into the desire to ride a real and large horse, rather than a pony, later in life.  we shall see.  it was a great first experience.  it was perfect.

little ballerina

chloe has thoroughly enjoyed her time as a ladybug ballerina, but that time is coming to a close.  it was short-lived, no doubt.  the fact is, we want her and sienna to be good swimmers.  after all, we will be living our summers each year at the beach and in the ocean.  i want them to be strong.  soooo...we are done with dance and will be starting swim in april.  we will be dancing again later, for sure.

yay!

cute chloe in her ballet and tap class

"suuuuu-per girlssss!!!"

tap time!

chloe's teacher, miss tiffany gets into the disco feel of the tap dance.  oh yeeeeah!

oh wednesday!

my sweet chloe.  she loves to draw her mommy pictures.  after forgetting to scan it all day, i finally do and then ask her who it is in my picture that she drew especially for me.

"it's london.  for you mommy!"

london is my cousin kiersten's daughter.  she doesn't have red, pink or magenta hair, but i guess there is a likeness.  london, you must have a green dress somewhere in your closet, right?  ;)

a morning in seaport

nina at blackbird ink photography was snapping away at sienna's five year photo shoot last week...so chloe, lia and i wandered around keeping ourselves busy.  i brought my camera for kicks, so here are some randoms we took.  it was a pretty cloudy day which makes for decent lighting a lot of the time.  the wind was also around, but that was fun too.  we eventually gave ourselves the boot from seaport village when it started to rain.  good call, i say.  good call.

my sweet, strange child.  getting a normal smile out of her is like pulling teeth these days.

i like to call this bottom picture, "little stinker", cause really...she is one.  but such a cute little stinker!

okay, so i didn't take as many photos as i thought, but it was a fun morning!

a morning in the life of chloe

1. brush (painfully) long blonde hair....check!
2. mix genres in clothing...check!
3. put shoes on wrong feet....check!
4. bring out 1/50th of your stuffed animals into the kitchen...check!

 5. set up chairs alongside the counter to effectively play with animals on counter....check!
6. look proud of your work....check!

7.  give mom dirty looks as she photo-journals your escapade...CHECK!

oh chloe and her love of stuffed animals.  until this little girl arrived sienna could've cared less about the stuffed animals grandparents had bought her.  for chloe it has always been somewhat of an infatuation.  i have to admit that i love that she loves them.  sometimes i wish i could get rid of some of them...we have sooo many.  but chloe actually plays with them all, a lot.  even sienna does now, thanks to chloe's influence.  they have concerts for their animals/dolls, they play house and mommy and babysitter, they put them in time-out, they dress them up.  there's really no end to their imaginations with their animals.

little ballerina

here's a short video of chloe in her ballet class.  it's so dang cute watching her and all the other little girls in the class.  chloe's curtsy at the end is funny too.

spilling

perhaps it's that time of the month for me, i'm not sure.  i never really am sure when that's supposed to be for me.  i've never been regular.  but i do know, that i sure feel as though something is going on.  add on top of that possibility moving in with your in-laws.  as great as they are, it's an adjustment.  i've given up my own private space and i feel, part of my individuality in a way.  it's temporary, i know...i know.  i'm the winner here too, cause i come out of this saving so much money.  right?

so why am i so dang emotional today?  it only took me hugging my husband for the tears to flow.  it was truly a pathetic sight to behold.  i miss nina, i miss my cousin, i miss la jolla, i miss the proximity to wonderful downtown things (bronx pizza, la jolla shores, utc mall, the zoo), i miss lucynthia and our babysitting trades, i miss my kitchen, i miss my piano students.

okay, there.  i feel a little bit better.  between that little rant and my earlier niagara falls, i'm starting to feel less hormonal.  phew!  to change things up, here's the bug...

...isn't she yummy?  i know i'm biased, but come on.  blue eyes, scrunched up face, bright blonde hair.  and if you dare add her spunky (and slightly mean) personality you're really in for a surprise.  she's really into her small giraffe stuffed animal.  he has no name...but is a he.  he accompanies us many places.  he's apparently scared of the big dragon on "how to train your dragon".  giraffe likes sugar on cookies.  giraffe is also very generous in kiss-giving.  next time you're over...say hi to giraffe.

lovelies

thanks to all you lovelies who patted me on the back telling me it was all going to be alright when i threw a little fit there last week about my blogging woes.  woe, woe is me....indeed!  let's hope i get back into it soon.  here's a slight attempt today.  the photo isn't fresh, but it's only a few weeks old.  not horrible.  it's child number two!  the bug...

...she's been especially difficult lately.  and, especially cute, of course, which only makes her stubbornness a little bit easier to bare.  her prayers lately are just killing me...it's so cute.

"dear heav'ly fah-ther, we thank thee for all the joseph smiths...please bless the sea witches....amen"

can you tell what movie she's a little obsessed with lately?  day and night..."i want to watch ariel mama".  chloe, for the fifteenth time today, we aren't going to watch ariel again.  we already watched her once this morning and once is already more than i can handle.  love you bug.

she really is too much.  saturday night my mom offers to babysit the girls for us so we can go on a real date!  it was heavenly.  so she tells me this awesome story of how chloe locked them all in the girls' room right as the girls were being put to bed.  the best part?  mom had to pee!!  hahaha.....er, i mean....sorry mom!  she was stuck in there for a little while, tearing the room apart trying to find something to open the door.  much to her dismay i've already packed a large majority of things in there, as well as thrown a lot away.  luckily, she found a small play kitchen knife that she was able to use to escape.  bladder relieved!  chloe just giggled upon being accused of locking the door.  it's actually quite the regular occurence.  every once in a while i'll hear her pounding on her door.  i'll come over and open it for her and she'll laugh and just admit to locking herself in.  she loves closing doors. it drives me nuts.

on a slightly more commerical note, i've submitted her into the babygap photo contest.  i don't know why i do this, because our chances of getting it are so very low, especially considering i forget to vote for her myself, but i did in hopes that some gap executive will see her, not care how few votes she has, and pluck her into the gap modeling world.  if you have a sec, help me out and vote...yeah?  click HERE.  or if she's just not cute enough...vote for sienna HERE.

meow kitty cat

oh the things the chloe says:

"mama, i had a bad dweam."
"what did you dream about?"
"sienna talked to me."

wow, that must've been horrible chloe.

"chloe, would you like to eat a snack?"
"meooow"
"what kind of snack would you like to eat?"
"meow, meow, meoooooow..."
"okay...."

after dropping pasta on the floor during dinner, very sincerely chloe says, "sorry pasta!"

i love you my sweet little kitty cat.
meow, meow, meow!

little miss musician, herself

my sweet little singer.  chloe is a little vain, i'm afraid to say.  she loves to see herself in our tv as she walks by, she loves to hear herself sing, she loves to dress up.

what do i have on my hands?

i'm seriously afraid.  when i learned that i was having one girl (let alone two) i was scared of girl drama and prissy girls.  i grew up with three brothers, never had a sister.  i was not a prissy girl.  i liked the lack of drama, especially when seeing what some of my friends dealt with with their own sisters.

but here i am, full of girliness all around me.  it's not as scary as i thought it would be (yes, i realize they're only 3 and 4, yes).....yet.  i think it's even been good for me!  i need to add more girliness to myself.

either way, chloe is so cute singing her version of "i am a child of god."  she'll randomly put up whatever book she sees fit onto the piano and start plunking away.  i'm thinking she might be the one that i'll teach piano to first.  sienna's not quite as open to the idea.

pioneer baby

okay, so she's not a baby.  and really, she's not a pioneer either.  but neither was i when i wore this dress, once upon a time.  probably back in 83' or something.  my mom made this dress for me in that tender year.  i'm happy to say that chloe had a blast twirling and "spinning".

t h r e e

we recently celebrated chloe's third birthday.  i seriously can't believe that my baby is three!  time went by way faster than i wanted it to.  and i can't say enough good about my sweet, spunky little bug.  no one has as much giggly-ness, as much attitude, stubborn-ness, silliness, or is as cuddly as my chloe bug.

a recent, short conversation:
me- "chloe, where's your pants?" (they disappeared from her legs)
chloe- "they're not working" (the r's said as w's, thank you
in other words, she didn't want to wear them anymore, so in her opinion, they're not working, so that she doesn't have to wear them anymore.  smart girl.

so at target about a month ago we were browsing through the toy aisles just looking (not touching...riiiight) at stuff to appease the restless natives, and chloe spots the most beautiful wedding dress-up dress.  immediately "i need it!" was said (she is my daughter after all!), as was "mommy, please can we get it?"  i declined calmly, telling her that maybe she'll get it for her birthday.  surprisingly she was agreeable and said, "oh, okay mommy."

well imagine her pure joy to see that she did indeed get that lovely (and pricey) wedding dress.  it was really our only gift since it was $$, but that was all she needed.  she has worn it every day since.

her then-current dress was immediately removed and replaced with her new love.  just look at the longing in the girl's face as daddy takes his time removing tags and hangars.  geez!  hurry dad!

she then proceeded to spin around the house, twirling and dancing around.

h a p p y   b i r t h d a y   c h l o e ! ! ! !

we love you.
